The paper making technology cluster is the single most important export and employing industry in Central Finland. In the region, paper making technology is also closely linked to the fields of energy, environment, ICT and nanotechnologies.
Jyväskylä region is the home of a global, major paper machinery supplier, many major engineering companies, many high-tech companies developing the latest innovations for the paper industry, two paper mills, one board mill, one pulp mill as well as numerous chemicals and additives suppliers.
